It appears that Wyoming new head coach Dave Christensen and staff will recruit the state of Colorado as if it were the home state for the Cowboys.

Several offers have gone out to Colorado High School prospects, including one to Columbine High School’s Danny Spond.

CowboyBlitz.com caught up with Spond Sunday night to gage the signal caller’s interest in the University of Wyoming.

“I definitely have interest in Wyoming,” Spond said. “I have gone to camps at Wyoming for the last three years, I love it up there.”

Considering the fact that the Cowboy Campus is only three hours away from his home, Spond made it clear that all the schools that have offered the talented signal caller are all in the hunt for his services.

“I haven’t eliminated anyone at this point,” Spond said. “The Wyoming campus and town has a hometown feeling to it. I’m a hometown type of guy; I like it there a lot.”

Spond, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound athlete who runs a 4.6 forty, currently has offers from Wyoming, Colorado, Stanford and Duke.

“All the Wyoming coaches have sent me hand written letters every week,” Spond said. “I have been impressed with how they are recruiting me.”

According to Spond, he plans on taking an unofficial visit to the Wyoming Campus either this spring or summer. So far Spond has taken trips to Stanford and several times to the Colorado campus.

“I have been to the Colorado campus a lot,” Spond said. “My sister graduated from there two years ago.”

One thing that impressed the talented quarterback at the Laramie campus was how friendly everyone was.

“Everyone is so friendly there,” Spond said. “It seems like a very close family, with the entire football program.”
