Randolph closer to decision

Brandon Randolph

Brandon Randolph will have a college decision between three schools in the next couple of weeks. After officially visiting Xavier, he discusses where his recruitment stands.

Recruiting has seriously picked up lately for 6-foot-1, 190-pound Inglewood (Calif.) 2013 point guard Brandon Randolph.

After landing a scholarship offer from Xavier last Tuesday, Randolph spent this past weekend in Cincinnati on an official visit.

"It went great," Randolph said. "I really liked the city of Cincinnati. The university is very good and it's a small school, which is what I'm used to.

"I think coach (Chris) Mack has my best interests and the style of play there fits me. It just seemed like a great fit as of right now."

While Xavier put itself in good position to land Randolph with the visit, he arrived home with a new offer to consider.

"I talked to coach (Frank) Haith yesterday and Missouri offered me so I'm going to take a visit there," Randolph said.

For Randolph, being able to compare Xavier to another school is important.

"I want to compare Xavier to Missouri," he said. "I'll look at the campus, how the coach will play me, how I fit into the system and see how I could fit into the team right away like I would at Xavier."

When Randolph returns home from Missouri, he shouldn't take too long before knowing where he'll go to college.

"I'll probably wait three or four days after I get back," Randolph said. "I want to come back home, talk to my family and see how they feel."

Randolph says that he's down to three, and with a decision coming soon, one school has to feel best about its chances.

"It's basically down to Wyoming, Xavier and Missouri," Randolph said, "But I really, really like Xavier."
